Cabbage Sprinkles VFX Magic on K-POP Music Videos
From Hungary to Korea: Our First K-POP MV Project
Our first Korean music video project as a VFX studio was at the beginning of 2024. The music video (MV) for LUCAS was shot in Hungary by a local production company. This was a highly anticipated release as it marked the artist’s comeback after leaving his original group, NCT.
Our task was to create a photorealistic CGI mouse that would seamlessly interact with the live-action footage, dancing, singing, and running through the scenes. To get the best result, we carefully supervised each scene, capturing environmental references with chrome balls, placing markers for accurate motion tracking, and shooting 360-degree imagery to ensure every detail was captured.
All that effort paid off—the video now has over 3.2M views on YouTube. Want to see our work in action? Watch the MV here.
A CGI Cat and Glowing Eyes
After our success with the first project, the director and production team came back with another exciting challenge.
This time, we were tasked with animating a CGI cat for the music video. In addition to animating this feline character, we also handled the rotoscoping, created glowing devilish eyes for the artists, and designed a CGI coffin to match a real one used in the shoot. The video quickly became a hit and has already accumulated over 20M views on YouTube.

The Big Barcelona Production
Our third project with Oui Kim and NEWYEAR ASIA took us to Barcelona, where we joined forces with other VFX teams for a large-scale shoot. With the support of a local service partner, CANADA, we flew our supervisors to oversee the scenes we were responsible for, capturing detailed imagery and ensuring every element aligned with the creative vision.
The shoot was epic: beautiful locations, incredible practical effects, massive lighting setups, talented dancers, and even rigged actors being lifted into the air. We were tasked with adding several VFX elements, including:
- CGI bats flying around performers
- Rotoscoping and cleanup of smaller elements
- CGI fireworks and surreal visual effects
- Creating non-existent surfaces on metro car walls
The Power of Collaboration in K-POP
Although we still don’t speak Korean (very well), we’re always inspired by the hard work, passion, and creativity of the Korean production teams. Despite tight deadlines, we delivered the VFX on time and kept the momentum going—because the music doesn’t stop, so neither do we.
