When One Door Closes: How We Landed Corega’s Global Spot

Here’s an example: Every year, we bid on many jobs. Some we win, some we don’t—and that’s just part of the job. But recently, our can-do attitude turned one of those ‘thanks but no thanks’ moments into something much more rewarding.
Word Gets Around
We’d quoted for a Marriott Hotels campaign with Armoury London. The project looked fantastic: multiple shooting days, eye-catching locations in several countries, international casting, bespoke set builds—the works. But alas, it was not to be…
We didn’t end up winning the bid this time, but the producer was so impressed by the care and effort we put into our proposal that they passed our name on to another UK agency working on a different campaign.
That agency was FCB London, and their new project was an international spot for denture adhesive brand Corega. They needed a production partner who could pull together a high-quality shoot in under three weeks. A tall order? For some, maybe–but we pulled out all the stops to make our numbers work. And we were in!
Working closely with FCB and director Álvaro Ramírez, we quickly shortlisted locations, cast talent, sourced props, and prepped everything from wardrobe to call sheets. With everyone aligned, the UK team flew out to Hungary to be joined by the client for the shoot.
One Day, One Restaurant, Two Hungry Men
Álvaro was thrilled to work with a fully Hungarian crew. We only needed to provide him with a shortlist of directors of photography. From that list, they chose János Szőke, one of Hungary’s most experienced DOPs, whose 30+ year career spans commercials, music videos, and feature films.
The story was simple and funny: two men battling it out in a restaurant, trying to out-eat each other without missing a bite. No dentures slipped—thanks to Corega—and the actors got the message across with charm and energy.
The shoot went off without a hitch. The FCB and Haleon teams were thrilled with how smoothly the day ran, and we celebrated the wrap together with a few beers pulled from an ice bucket.
We’re proud of how this project came together—and even prouder that our reputation opened the door to what we hope is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
